Location (just the country is fine): Pocatello, Idaho
When did you start reading YA Lit: 13 or 14
What books have you read: hunger games, pretty little liars, private, nicholas sparks books
Why do you think dystopia is such a popular theme in YA Lit: i definitely think it has to do with the imagination as well as it applying to the real world we live in. I think it is more life like to our generation
Do you think feminism is accurately represented in YA Lit (why/why not): sometimes. I mean in the hunger games i do think they portray feminism as justly, but within other series there is not equality. But then again, maybe the feminism and inequality add to the story line
Who, in YA Lit, to you, is a “strong female character? Why: Katniss Everdeen, Basically she is what holds the structure up for the whole story.
What did you/do you feel adolescents take away from YA Lit: sometimes i think they believe it is more real than fiction but i do find that it’s necessary for us all to have an imagination. OUr generation has more imagination than the generations before us i believe. I think many times adolescents see the benefits of being strong in what you believe and do, which explains why so many in our generation are a bit rebellious and strong minded.
